Red Asphalt was one of those games I never heard anything about and just happened upon it while strolling through my local game store. It was in my price range (I think I paid $20) and had an appetite for some destruction, so I thought what the hell. Making a game purchase on a game you know almost nothing about game be a risky gamble. You may find a gem you might have otherwise passed up, or you find a piece of crap you wished ancient curses on its developers. Luckily in this case, the former happened with Red Asphalt. Not taking into account all the modern racing and combat games, Red Asphalt is a great fusion of the two. It simple enough to pick up and start playing, but has enough depth to keep you playing. There are a variety of vehicles you can unlock and the races are on a variety of landscapes. There is also something very satisfying when you decimate your opponents. The graphics are great for the era and the music provides the right atmosphere to race at high speeds and blow up all in your way. It’s the perfect antidote to road rage. It also has one of the best voiceovers and openings I have seen in any video game past and present. Still gives me chills when I watch it. In regard to anyone who hasn’t played this before, you might find it difficult to have to adjust to a world where most of the things that are standard today didn’t exist. I played this using the D-Pad since analog sticks were just starting to come out. Also, as with anyone who goes back to visit past game consoles again or for the first time, you may find the outdated technology hard to adjust to. But, those issues aside, Red Asphalt is one of my all time favorite racing combat games. It may not have the street cred of Twisted Metal, but it offers an experience unique to itself.Read full review
The game is in pristine condition and works very well, the previous owner kept it clean and scratch-free.

A game that is a mix of Gran Turismo and twisted metal. It's a death racing game with a great upgrade system for your cars. Do not use cheat codes until you beat the game by yourself first. You will ruin the experience. I would love a 2020 remake. But sadly this game never took off and is super unknown.

Red Asphalt has to be one of the few best racing shoot-em-up games out on PS1. This game has great graphics and it never gets old because you'd want to race the levels over and over again. There is a wide variety of default cars but you can also unlock boss cars as well which adds to the fun of the game. The title pretty much says it. You blow people up in cars with differnt weapons and race at the same time. A great game for all ages, Recommend getting it.
Thanks for helping with the collection!
